Khabib Abdulmanapo vich Nurmagomedov was born on September 20, 1988, in the village of Sildi in the Tsumadinsky District of the Dagestan ASSR, part of the Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. He grew up in a household with his parents, Abdulmanap and an Avar family, along with his older brother Magomed and younger sister Amina. His father, Abdulmanap, a decorated athlete and veteran of the Soviet Army, played a pivotal role in his early wrestling training. Victories over seasoned opponents like Gleison Tibau and Thiago Tavares showcased his grappling mastery and striking skills. UFC Lightweight Champion

After a compelling win streak, Nurmagomedov clinched the UFC lightweight championship in April 2018 at UFC 223, defeating Al Iaquinta. His reign as champion was marked by memorable battles, including a highly anticipated showdown with Conor McGregor at UFC 229. Despite controversies surrounding the post-fight brawl, Nurmagomedov’s dominance in the octagon remained unquestionable, solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.

With an undefeated record of 29 wins and no losses, Nurmagomedov retired from professional MMA in January 2023, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and sportsmanship. His contributions to the sport extended beyond his fighting career, as he ventured into coaching and promoting MMA events through Eagles MMA and the Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC).
